The plant is a compact, densely branched semi-evergreen shrub 80 to 100 cm in height and width. The mid-green leaves have a characteristic aroma and may take on a reddish hue in the autumn period.
The tubular bilabiate flowers are cherry-red in color, often with white elements. In cool weather, the coloration becomes uniform, while under sunlight, a two-tone effect appears. Flowering begins in late spring and continues until the first frosts.
The variety is drought-tolerant, winter hardiness is limited to temperatures around -9...-10°C, and it is sensitive to winter excess soil moisture. The bush has a sturdy form that does not require staking and actively attracts pollinating insects.
