Variety description

Low-growing perennial plant forming dense clumps, flower stalks reach a height of 20–25 cm. Leaves are deciduous, glossy, dark olive in color, and may have a reddish tint in young plants. The leaf shape is orbicular-palmate, lobed, and the underside of the leaf is usually purple.
The flowers are characterized by unusual elongated petals of unequal length, colored in a light pastel pink. The plant is a short-day crop, flowering in late summer and autumn, from September to October.
Cultivation requires moist, well-drained acidic soil in partial shade. The plant withstands frosts down to -15...-12 °C; in more severe climatic conditions, covering may be required.
