The plant has an upright growth type. Stems are broad, with small teeth along the edges, usually 2–3 teeth on each side, pointing forward.
Flowers have an orange-red color, sometimes described as dark coral, with a whitish lower part of the tube and a white throat. Petals are elliptical in shape with a nearly blunt apex, curved backward. The pistil is purple-red, the stigma is purple-pink, the pollen is light yellow, and the stamen filaments are white. Buds are pointed in shape, salmon-red in color.
