The variety «Kadet» was developed by chemical mutagenesis and individual selection. The plant is characterized by an indeterminate growth type and a single-stem structure. Upon ripening, the capsules are prone to dehiscence.

The seeds are large, high-density, and uniform, demonstrating good germination rates. The biochemical composition is characterized by an oil content of about 50.2% and a protein content of about 19.7%, with tocopherols and sesamol present in the composition.

The variety is considered promising for steppe zones due to stable yields under moisture deficit conditions. The genotype is used in breeding work as source material for creating forms with improved drought tolerance.
