The variety Zhalt Sadovski 6 was developed at the K. Malkov Institute of Plant Genetic Resources in the town of Sadovo. The plant possesses resistance to bacteriosis and other economically significant diseases of the crop, while the variety is distinguished by high productivity.
An important feature of this variety is the necessity for manual harvesting, as its capsules are prone to opening. The resulting seeds are used for the production of tahini, halva, sesame oil, and also as a topping for confectionery and bakery products.
