The variety is traditionally used for the production of condiments and as a model object in field trials of crop rotations. Morphologically, the plant is distinguished by a short to medium stem length.

The presence of hairs on the pods provides the variety with a certain degree of protection against damage by flea beetles. The variety possesses a glucosinolate profile typical for the species with a predominance of sinalbin and is often used in breeding programs as a control sample for comparison with new lines.
