The variety is an heirloom landrace originating from Liguria and Piedmont. The plant is characterized by an indeterminate growth habit, medium vigor, and belongs to early or mid-early maturity groups. It requires mandatory staking to a support during cultivation.

Fruits have a pear-shaped or heart-shaped form with characteristic narrowing at the stem end and possible surface ribbing. Average fruit weight is 200–300 g. The flesh is delicate, meaty, contains a small number of seeds, and possesses a sweet aroma.

The variety is intended primarily for fresh consumption, but is also suitable for preparing sauces, canning, or culinary processing on the grill. Due to the thin skin, fruits require careful handling during harvest and transport.
