The variety is used exclusively as a rootstock for tomato grafting. Its primary task is to increase the resistance of cultivated plants to adverse soil conditions and pathogens.

The plant possesses resistance to root-knot nematodes Meloidogyne spp. due to the presence of the Mi-1 gene. However, the effectiveness of the protection may decrease at high air temperatures and is limited regarding certain nematode species, for example, Meloidogyne enterolobii.
