The plant belongs to the Homestead breeding line series. Agronomic publications note that the variety's fruits are large and suitable for fresh market sales, although the variety may be inferior to later selections in terms of uniformity.

The variety was actively used in scientific research during the second half of the 20th century to evaluate yield, chemical fruit parameters, and the influence of herbicides on crop development. Due to its wide recognition in the past, it was frequently used as a control variety when testing new hybrids.
