The variety is the result of work to improve the local germplasm of the Abruzzo region. It is closely related to the traditional «Pera d'Abruzzo» tomato type and holds SAAB-CRA certification, which confirms the preservation of the qualities of the original fruit type.

The fruits possess a balanced taste, high lycopene content, and reach a weight of up to 600 grams. They have a pear-shaped or round form with ribbing, are distinguished by a low water content, and have an almost complete absence of seeds in the locules. The variety is considered versatile, suitable for fresh consumption and processing into tomato puree.
