The variety is mid-season or mid-late. The tall plant reaches 1.5–2.2 m, requires staking and pruning into several stems. Fruits have a plum, pepper-like or pear-like shape, often with a pointed tip at the blossom end, and a weight from 50 to 250 g.

The fruit flesh is dense and meaty with few seeds, the skin is resistant to cracking. The variety is considered high-yielding and hardy, possesses moderate resistance to Fusarium and Verticillium. A local Italian landrace, the history of which can be traced back to the beginning of the 20th century.
