Jalpa tomato is a determinate, often standard variety, reaching a height of 40–70 cm. It belongs to mid-season varieties.

The fruits are pepper-shaped and red-colored with yellow streaks or stripes. The weight of a single fruit ranges from 50 to 120, sometimes up to 150 grams. The flesh is firm, which allows the harvest to be used for pickling, whole-fruit canning, and fresh consumption.
