The variety is a somatic mutant of the Chieftain variety and is characterized by a maturation period of 95 to 105 days. It forms 12–14 tubers per plant with intensely red reticulated skin, which is resistant to fading during storage and mechanical damage during harvest.
Tuber flesh is white, the dry matter content is 17.5–18.5 %. The variety is well-suited for boiling and baking, possesses a long dormancy period, and shows slowed greening of the flesh when exposed to light. The variety exhibits tolerance to common scab.
