The variety is a compact shrub reaching a height and width of about 1 meter. The plant is intended for ornamental landscaping, including use in hedges and container plantings.
The main feature of the foliage is the intense dark red color of young shoots, which persists from early spring to early summer, after which the color changes to golden or greenish-gold. The plant produces white inflorescences that attract pollinating insects.
The variety is winter hardy and demonstrates resistance to diseases. It adapts well to various soil types, but requires regular watering as it does not tolerate drought conditions well.
