The DK 26 genotype appears in scientific literature as an object of study in experiments analyzing grain composition, including tannin content, and assessing pest resistance.

During the studies, resistance of this genotype to the aphid Melanaphis sacchari was identified, manifested as antixenosis—reduced attractiveness of the plant for feeding and reproduction of the pest.
