The 'Kvarts' variety is classified as soriz (Sorghum oryzoidum). This is a species of sorghum, a distinctive feature of which is the grain shape, externally similar to rice grain.

In a number of publications, this variety is mentioned in the context of protein-rich grain crops; however, detailed agronomic characteristics, including data on plant height, maturity group, resistance to diseases or lodging, are not provided in open documents.
