ActiveSpinacia oleracea L. · Spinach
Monsanto Holland, NL
10 August 2026
The variety is a summer, fast-growing type, with a period from sowing to harvest of 40–60 days. The plant forms large, crispy, dark green leaves. A unique feature is the mixed flowering type with an absence of male plants, which slows down the bolting process.
The variety has resistance to races 1 and 2 of downy mildew; frost resistance is also noted. The leaves are characterized by a low oxalic acid content and are suitable for fresh consumption, culinary processing, and freezing.
Intended for open field cultivation with sowing from March to July. When grown for baby leaf, dense sowing with an interval of 3–4 cm is recommended; to obtain mature plants, the distance between bushes is increased to 20–25 cm. The plant prefers sunny areas or partial shade.
