The spinach variety Premier was bred in Romania at the Vegetable Research and Development Station in Bacău. Research on the variety was focused primarily on studying its tolerance to low temperatures during the winter period.
During agronomic trials with autumn and spring sowing, the variety's ability to successfully overwinter was confirmed. Quantitative morphological characteristics of the plant and data on the maturity group are not provided in open sources.
