Red Kitten RZ is an F1 hybrid of the "red-veined" spinach category. The plant forms round-shaped leaves with a smooth surface, having a medium-green color and contrasting red veins and stems. The variety is intended for cultivation for baby-leaf or bunch production.

The plant is characterized by slow growth, leaf density, and delayed bolting at elevated temperatures. It possesses resistance to downy mildew (races 1–13), while studies noted susceptibility to race 19 of this pathogen.
