The Seven R variety is characterized by smooth leaves and a semi-erect plant shape. It is suitable for mechanized harvesting and can be used both for fresh market sales and for industrial processing needs.
The plant possesses resistance to downy mildew but shows susceptibility to white rust. A feature of the variety is a tendency for rapid bolting when temperatures rise, which limits its planting possibilities in late spring under hot climate conditions.
