The variety is part of the Olympic series, the breeding of which was conducted with the aim of combining the compactness and profuse flowering of English hybrids with the large flowers and rich palette of German hybrids. The variety received its name in honor of a mythological character.

Plants of this series are characterized by large flowers with a diameter from 5 to 7 cm. The varieties exhibit complex color options, including the presence of bicolored patterns, spotting, and streaks.
