The Valmic variety is a spontaneous mutation of Stromanthe sanguinea variety Stripestar. The plant is used as an indoor ornamental crop and is characterized by a unique creamy-variegated leaf coloration.
Vegetative propagation has confirmed the stability of varietal traits. The plant requires high air humidity, a temperature regime of no lower than 15°C, and to be kept in locations protected from direct sunlight. In botanical classification, the species may also be described as Stromanthe thalia.
