The variety is a perennial winter bunchgrass with coarse, blue-green leaves. Plant height averages 90–120 cm, capable of reaching 3 meters under favorable conditions.

The plant is late-maturing and has high moisture requirements throughout the entire growing season. The variety exhibits high adaptability to conditions of excessive moisture, temporary flooding, and semi-arid regions.

In terms of nutritional value, it is suitable for establishing pastures, hay, and silage production, though it has moderate palatability. Its primary agricultural use includes the reclamation of saline lands and use as protective plantings.
