Variety description

The variety is an intraspecific hybrid of Elymus elongatus populations collected in Central Asia and on the saline soils of Hungary. The plant forms dense bunches without underground rhizomes. Stems reach a height of 180–220 cm, have an upright form, rigid texture, and a grayish-green color. The root system is powerful, penetrating to a depth of 1.8–2.5 m.
The plant belongs to the cool-season crop category: vegetation begins in mid-April, flowering occurs in late June – early July, and grain ripening – in late July – early August. In addition to energy use, the variety is suitable for soil phytoremediation and fodder production. It possesses high seed germination energy and resistance to extreme environmental conditions.
