The plant is an ornamental crop with sturdy stems and small fragrant flowers gathered into dense corymbose inflorescences. The Andante variety is characterized by an amethyst shade of the flowers; there is also a variation, Andante White, with white coloration.

The plant is used as a cut flower crop for floral arrangements, as well as in ornamental gardening for decorating flower beds, borders, and containers. In a vase, the variety is capable of maintaining freshness for more than 14 days.
