The plant has lanceolate leaves with a serrated edge, the color of which varies from dark green to reddish-bronze or deep purple-black. Small flowers are collected in umbels 10–13 cm in diameter and have a light fragrance. In regions with cold climates, it is grown as an annual.
The variety is used in flower beds, container gardening, and professional floristry. The plant is undemanding, requires well-drained soil and regular watering, and is resistant to slugs and snails. When spent inflorescences are removed, repeat flowering is possible, and when grown in containers, support may be required.
