The Polis variety is used as a subject for studying productivity and plant growth characteristics in various development phases: from the beginning of budding to flowering. Scientific studies confirm its use in agronomic trials, including for the analysis of genetic diversity using SSR markers.

The plant belongs to forage crops. The Polis variety is an independent breeding form and is not related to the Agro Polis variety featured in European catalogs.
