The funnel-shaped flowers are gathered in star-shaped umbellate inflorescences 10–15 cm in diameter and 5–10 cm in length. The diameter of an individual flower is 2.5–3 cm, and the height is 2–2.5 cm. The petal color is blue, with a characteristic dark blue or violet stripe in the center. The flowers have no fragrance.

The plant is used in ornamental gardening for borders, rock gardens, and container cultivation, and is also used as a cut flower crop due to its long-lasting freshness. It prefers well-drained soils and sunny areas.
