The variety was obtained through individual selection from a hybrid population created by crossing the varieties Podarok Donu and Rostovchanka 5. The plant is of the semi-dwarf type and possesses an increased ability to resist lodging.

Arsenal wheat demonstrates high resistance to major diseases, including brown rust, powdery mildew, and loose smut. In terms of grain quality, the variety corresponds to the strong wheat category, being on par with the Batko variety.
