The variety belongs to the category of substitution-type varieties developed from the M2A line. It was introduced into agricultural practice in Portugal following the dissemination of CIMMYT breeding lines. Morphological traits include an intermediate tillering type and pubescent leaf auricles.
The variety is early-maturing and exhibits resistance to leaf rust and loose smut. A characteristic feature of the grain is a tendency toward shriveling, which reduces the test weight. At present, the variety is not a modern commercial standard.
