The variety was obtained as a result of breeding, which included crossing primary octoploid forms with hexaploid accessions from Hungary and Canada. It is a hexaploid with a chromosome set of 2n = 42. The plant is characterized by medium height, a strong degree of pubescence of the stem neck, and a hollow culm between the node and the base of the ear. The lower glume is devoid of pubescence.
By development type, the variety is facultative, which allows it to be used for both winter and spring sowing. It belongs to late-maturing varieties. Initially, the variety was widely used as a forage crop, including in aquaculture research. The variety has undergone special selection for lodging resistance and possesses characteristics typical for triticale in terms of phytosanitary resistance.
