The Grado variety was included in the state register in 1984 and played a significant role in expanding the sown areas of triticale in Poland. The crop combined low requirements for growing conditions, characteristic of rye, with high yield, typical of wheat.
The variety possessed a good level of winter hardiness and was repeatedly used in scientific research as a model object for studying yield formation, as well as the influence of sowing dates and fertilizers. Currently, the variety is considered obsolete and has been excluded from the current breeding programs of the originator company.
