The variety is early-maturing and characterized by low stem height, which ensures high lodging resistance. The plant possesses high resistance to yellow rust and leaf rust, and demonstrated high yield indicators, exceeding the results of control varieties during state trials.

The purpose of the variety is for use as a forage crop. It is less demanding in terms of agronomic practices, predecessors, and soil quality compared to winter wheat. Due to its genetic properties, IS Flavius has been used in breeding work to create new triticale varieties.
