The Mieszko variety was developed during the breeding work of the Polish company Hodowla Roślin Strzelce and registered under the breeding designation MAH 1696. The plant belongs to the spring form of the crop.
The main use of the variety is cultivation for fodder purposes. The value of the grain for livestock is due to its high protein content with a favorable amino acid composition and its good digestibility.
The variety has the ability to be cultivated on various soil types and is characterized by resistance to the main diseases affecting this crop.
