Curcitta is a traditional wheat variety grown primarily in the provinces of Catania and Messina. The plant is a mid-late maturing variety with a growing period of approximately 130 days and reaches a height of 135 cm. The tillering type is intermediate.
The spike of the variety is awnless, has a pyramidal or club shape, and high density. The grain is white. The variety is an ancient local form, adapted to regional conditions, and is not intended for intensive commercial production.
