The M-IDAS (USA) variety is a winter soft white wheat that is awnless or weakly awned. The variety is intended for the conditions of the U.S. Pacific Northwest and demonstrates above-average yields in zones with 12–16 inches of precipitation.
The M-IDAS (Europe/Ukraine) variety is an early-maturing winter soft wheat of the intensive type, with a plant height of 80–90 cm. The variety is awned, characterized by high winter hardiness, drought tolerance, and resistance to shattering with moderate lodging resistance.
The European variety has high resistance to powdery mildew, leaf rust, Fusarium, and root rot. In terms of grain quality, it is classified as "strong" wheat: protein content exceeds 13.5%, gluten content is over 31%, and test weight is from 820 g/l.
