The SW Topper variety belongs to winter soft wheat. Based on their characteristics, plants of this variety are classified as tall and late-maturing.

During agronomic trials, high susceptibility of this variety to Fusarium head blight (Fusarium culmorum) was identified. Grain of this variety was also used in scientific research to evaluate the influence of external conditions on quality indicators of the produce.
