The plant belongs to the short-stemmed type with a semi-erect or intermediate tillering type. The variety is characterized by a weak or medium level of anthocyanin coloration of the coleoptile, red grain color, and medium or dark coloration in phenol testing.

The variety possesses resistance to powdery mildew, brown rust, and leaf septoria. Good resistance to Fusarium head blight is also noted.
