The variety is intended for the production of food-grade grain distinguished by a high content of natural pigments, which impart an intense yellow color to pasta products. The variety is also an object of study for phenolic acids and arabinoxylans within the grain composition.

Due to its characteristics, Ambral is actively used in breeding programs as a parent form for creating new wheat lines. In scientific literature, it appears more frequently as a genetic standard for comparative studies than as a variety for mass modern production.
