The variety was bred in Italy at the Laboratory of Agricultural Applications in Casaccia. In breeding practice, it is considered a derivative form of the well-known Italian variety Creso.

In scientific literature, the variety is classified as having a degree of susceptibility to Fusarium head blight ranging from moderate to susceptible. The variety is also noted for having intermediate yield stability.
