The variety was bred through a complex crossing of lines Latino, Trinakria and MG1433. The plant is adapted to the conditions of Southern Italy and island regions, demonstrating stable productivity in these climatic zones.
The grain has a high protein content of about 14.0%. Technological qualities are determined by the presence of the γ-45 gliadin marker and the HMW-GS 2* subunit, which influence pasta production characteristics. The variety also shows good grain test weight indicators.
In studies, the variety is considered in the context of resistance to soil-borne wheat mosaic virus. The purpose of the variety is to obtain high-quality grain for the durum wheat processing industry.
