The variety was obtained by crossing Claudio x Maestrale. The plant is characterized by an awned spike with black awns. The thousand kernel weight is 48–52 grams.

The variety is distinguished by a high protein content and high-quality gluten, the parameters of which depend on seasonal conditions and nitrogen nutrition. The crop is recommended for cultivation in the central and southern regions of Italy and is adapted to various levels of soil fertility.
