The Gabbiano variety belongs to the durum wheat crop. It represents a semi-dwarf plant type, into whose genotype dwarfing genes were introduced via bread wheat to reduce stem height and increase lodging resistance.
The variety is intended for pasta and cereal production. In scientific literature, it is most often mentioned as an object for genetic research and comparative analysis of susceptibility to Fusarium head blight.

Green indicates countries where the variety is listed in the national catalogue and its seeds are authorized for sale. Expired registrations are marked separately: the variety was previously admitted, but sale is no longer permitted.
