SENELLART PATRICE
10 August 2026
The variety belongs to semi-dwarf wheats and has a cross with Turchia 7116 material in its pedigree. It was developed as part of a group of varieties that introduced Rht genes into Italian breeding material, which allowed for a productivity increase of 21–33% compared to traditional varieties.
Agronomically, the variety showed resistance to most biotypes of leaf rust, but was susceptible to the B27 biotype. The grain of the variety is intended for pasta production. In modern scientific literature, Valforte is mentioned more as an important object of genetic research and a marker of the evolution of Italian breeding than as a commercial crop.
