The variety is a mutant of the Avignon tulip. The flowers are distinguished by strongly wavy petals with jagged, fringed, or twisted edges. The bud diameter ranges from 8 to 14 cm. The color is bright red with an orange or peach tint, often with green and yellow streaks on the outer petals.
The plant reaches a height of 45–60 cm and has strong stems; however, due to the heavy buds, it may require protection from wind and rain. The variety is late-flowering, with the flowering period occurring in May. It possesses high frost resistance, corresponding to USDA zones 3–8.
