The variety is a mutant of the Matchpoint tulip and belongs to the fringed group, also characterized as double-fringed. A distinctive feature of the flower is its wine-red shade and pronounced contrasting fringe along the edges of the petals.

The plant has a height of 35–40 cm. Flowering occurs in April–May. The variety is intended for use in garden landscaping for flower beds and borders, and is also suitable for cut flowers.
