The flower possesses an exotic shape with strongly ruffled and fringed petal edges, resembling parrot plumage. The coloring is bicolored: bright red stripes resembling tongues of flame run across a creamy-yellow background. When fully open, the flower diameter is from 10 to 20 cm.

The plant reaches a height of 40–70 cm. It belongs to late-flowering varieties, with blooming occurring in May. The variety is winter hardy and suitable for ornamental landscaping and cut flowers. For cultivation, sunny, wind-protected areas with good soil drainage are preferred.
