The Gala Première variety belongs to the Greigii tulip group. The flowers have a carmine-red color, the outer petals can acquire a vermilion shade with a lilac tint, and the interior has a glowing vermilion-red color with a purple-brown spot at the base.
The plant possesses the mottled leaves characteristic of its class and a peduncle height of 20 to 50 cm. The variety is late-flowering. It can be affected by the tulip breaking virus, which requires sanitary roguing of plantings. Used for creating borders, group plantings, and landscaping alpine gardens.
