The variety is a mutation of the Greigii tulip group. The plant forms large buds with a diameter of over 10 cm with curly or fringed petals, characteristic of parrot tulips, of a saturated red color. The inflorescences have a pronounced aroma.
Flowering of the variety occurs at the end of May and lasts about two weeks. According to various sources, the height of the peduncle varies from 20–30 cm to 45 cm. The variety has frost resistance in zones 3–4 and is used in landscape design and for cutting.
