The variety belongs to the Greigii tulip group. Flower color is bright red with a feathery pattern and a thin yellow border; the base of the flower has bronze-green spots with a yellow rim. Anthers are colored in a purple shade.
The plant reaches a height of 35 cm and possesses variegated spotted leaves, characteristic of this group. Genetically, the variety is diploid (2n = 24) and was used in breeding experiments to produce tetraploid forms.
